Student-Athlete FAQ
 
Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19, Morehouse College has made the difficult and challenging decision to cancel the 2020 fall sports season for cross country and football.
 
Due to the expectation that many of our student-athletes, parents and coaches have several questions surrounding the cancellation, Morehouse College has created the following Frequently Asked Questions document.

Student-Athlete FAQ
Q: Will our athletic scholarships be honored?
A: Yes, all athletic scholarship awards will be honored.
 
Q: Will there be penalties for NLI Release Requests? If so, what will the penalties be?
A: If the NLI signees submit an NLI release request and your institution grants the complete release, there is no NLI penalty.  This would not fall under the null and void criteria for discontinued sport unless the sport is being discontinued. 
 
Q: Are the academic eligibility requirements the same for this year although the season has been cancelled?
A: Yes, all student-athletes are expected to meet the NCAA academic eligibility requirements of passing 12 hours and a 2.0 GPA for the semester.
 
Q: Will football have spring practice?
A: Decisions regarding Winter and Spring sports and activities will be forthcoming later in the year.
 
Q: Will the student-athletes be allowed to transfer within the conference without penalties?
A: The Student-athlete will still be subject to the Intra-Conference transfer requirements.
 
Q: Will the student-athletes regain a year of eligibility?
A: Morehouse College will seek a waiver from the NCAA.
